Sabes. Sempre soubeste.
You know. You always have.

Há qualquer coisa diferente desta vez, ou pelo menos é o que sentes, e talvez seja verdade, talvez desta vez haja algo que ficou do que leste, uma espécie de clareza que não tinhas antes, não clareza sobre o que fazer, isso ainda não, mas clareza sobre o que és, sobre o que tens feito, sobre o espaço entre os dois, e essa clareza pesa de uma forma que não pesava antes, pesa como pesa algo que não se pode desfazer.

Tens uma intenção.

Não sabes ainda o que significa concretamente, não tens um plano, não tens uma lista de coisas a mudar nem uma ordem para as mudar, tens apenas isto, uma direção vaga que aponta para qualquer coisa diferente do que tem sido, e por agora é suficiente, por agora é mais do que tinhas ontem, é mais do que tinhas quando começaste a ler o primeiro livro e achaste que era curiosidade.

Não era curiosidade, já sabes isso.

E agora há isto. Uma intenção que ainda não tem forma, mas que existe, qualquer coisa que se parece com querer ser diferente, não completamente diferente, não uma pessoa nova, apenas uma versão de ti que não carregue tanto do que carregas, que não precise de tanto do que precisas, que não faça tanto do que fazes.

É pouco, é o que tens, por agora, é suficiente para.

There is something different this time, or at least that is what you feel, and perhaps it is true, perhaps this time something stayed from what you read, a kind of clarity you did not have before, not clarity about what to do, not yet, but clarity about who you are, about what you have done, about the space between the two, and that clarity weighs in a way it did not weigh before, it weighs the way something weighs that cannot be undone.

You have an intention.

You do not yet know what it means concretely, you do not have a plan, you do not have a list of things to change or an order in which to change them, you have only this, a vague direction pointing toward something different from what it has been, and for now that is enough, for now it is more than you had yesterday, more than you had when you started reading the first book and thought it was curiosity.

It was not curiosity. You already know that.

And now there is this. An intention that does not yet have a shape, but that exists, something that resembles wanting to be different, not completely different, not a new person, only a version of you that does not carry as much as you carry, that does not need as much as you need, that does not do as much as you do.

It is little. It is what you have. For now, it is enough to.

Este livro já está a ser escrito, embora ainda não esteja concluído.

Existe como intenção, como aproximação, como uma ideia que ainda não encontrou a sua versão final.

Está a ser construído aos poucos, não a partir de certezas, mas de perguntas que persistem. Algumas destas páginas ainda irão mudar. Outras talvez desapareçam. E é possível que o que vier a ser escrito não corresponda totalmente ao que agora imaginas.

Se vieres a lê-lo, será porque algo aqui já começou.

O resto ficará por escrever... até deixar de ficar.

This book is already being written, though it is not yet finished.

It exists as an intention, as an approximation, as an idea that has not yet found its final form.

It is being built little by little, not from certainties, but from questions that persist. Some of these pages will still change. Others may disappear. And it is possible that what comes to be written will not entirely match what you now imagine.

If you come to read it, it will be because something here has already begun.

The rest will remain unwritten... until it no longer does.
